Happy 2 Year Anniversary

I know I am a little late posting this, but I have an excuse. I have been sick, real sick. Kenny's work sent him to Los Angeles the week before our 2 year anniversary so we decided we would celebrate in Napa this year. It was the first time for both of us and we really enjoyed it. I met Kenny in San Fran on Friday morning and we spent the day there checking out Fisher Man's warf. We got up early in the morning and drove to Napa Valley, getting there around 9:30am. Our first stop was the Old Faithful Geyser, which erupts every 30 minutes and goes any where from 60-100 feet in the air. It was pretty cool to see, but not as powerful as we expected. Certainly worth a stop if you are in the area. Next we visited the Petrified Forest, which is a forest of giant redwoods that have were petrified over 3 milion years ago from a volcano, Mt St Helena. This self guided walk was about 1/2 a mile and very interesting to see. Next we headed towards the wineries to start our tour of Napa's wine country. We managed to get out there so early, it was like our own little town for a few hours at least. We visited the Sterling Vineyard, Beringer Winery, V. Sattui, Beaulieu Vineyard and Robert Mondavi. I think the most unique experience for us was the Sterling tour because the only way to get to the winery is by aerial tram. It was such a beautiful site and I would highly recommend this place to anyone going there to visit. They have such beautiful views of the area! We also enjoyed our last stop and tour at Robert Mondavi. By the time we made it to this winery it was already 4:30 and they closed at 5pm, but we asked if they had any tours left and they did, one was scheduled to start in just a few minutes. For some reason 3 of the people (who paid for a tour) did not show up, so it was just us on our own special behind the scene tour. Our tour guide was great, showing us all kinds of stuff and taking the time to answer any questions we had. He even let us pick grapes (and eat them) straight off the vine, which was not the tour we paid for. And we even got to keep our wine glasses. It was certainly a long day but totally worth it. We had to drive back to San Fran on Sunday, but our flight did not leave until 5:30 so we just hung out at Fishermans Warf again and went through all of the local tourist traps, i mean shops!!! It was a great time!
